In recent years, the convention centre has become a venue for meetings that have attracted participants from all over the world. PortAventura Business & Events‘ versatile facilities and commitment to excellence make it the perfect choice to host events that make a difference in their respective fields, regardless of sector, type, and format. 2023 highlights include a great corporate milestone when we received B Corp certification, which recognises our work in terms of sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance.
Deserving winners include the SEC Sofia Event Center in Bulgaria and the QEII Centre in the United Kingdom, as well as the Qatar National Convention Centre. In regard to the People’s Choice Hotel category, hotel Velaa Private Island Maldives came away with Gold and the PortAventura Business & Events hotels were awarded Silver.
At this edition of the awards, the United States led with a total of 65 awards, closely followed by Qatar. This display of global recognition underlines the importance and influence of the events industry around the world.
Upon receiving the award Malin Nilsson, director of PortAventura Business & Events/Convention Centre, stated «First of all, I want to thank the entire PortAventura Business & Events team for their dedication and involvement in ensuring the prominent position of our resort in the MICE sector, everyone who voted for us, and of course the clients who have already placed their trust in us. We are proud to receive this award, which helps us position ourselves globally and encourages us to continue improving».
Ovanes Ovanessian, co-founder of the Eventex Awards, commented : «This edition of the Eventex Awards has been historic, with a record number of participants and the exceptional quality of all nominees. We have marvelled at the creativity, innovation and diversity of events and experiences presented, and we want to congratulate all the winners on their outstanding achievements».
The diversity of events is also notable, with 81% of the activity corresponding to corporate events, 13% dedicated to incentives, and the rest to conferences and other formats. This variety reflects the adaptability and ability of PortAventura Business & Events to meet the needs of a wide range of clients and sectors.
This success is added to other accolades, such as the award for the second consecutive year as one of the three best convention centres in Europe at the 2023 M&IT Awards in London. In addition, PortAventura Business & Events won Gold at the eventoplus Awards in the Best Venue 2023 category and recognition in Berlin as Best Convention Centre in Spain 2023 at the World MICE Awards. These awards not only highlight the excellence of the convention centre, but also PortAventura Business & Events‘ continued dedication to staying at the forefront of the events industry, both nationally and internationally.
